A workforce retraining program has launched in the Austin area to help several hundred displaced workers prepare for the next steps in their careers.
Workforce Solutions Capital Area is behind the program, called RE:WorkNOW, and will serve 260 Austinites through a partnership with Austin Community College and other local organizations as the area’s unemployment rate ticks up. Travis County and Austin City Council have collectively set aside nearly $3.2 million to back the program.
