Tons of companies are hiring in the Austin area. You just have to know where to look.

Unemployment in the Austin metro dropped to 6.7% in July, according to new Texas Workforce Commission figures released Aug. 21, down from 7.3% in June. That represented an increase of more than 25,000 jobs in the five-county area from the month prior.

Tens of thousands of Central Texans are still out of work during the pandemic and there are 4% fewer jobs in the region than a year ago. But the picture locally is markedly better than the national jobless rate of 10.5% in July. That got us to wondering who exactly is hiring right now. It turns out, a lot of companies from a wide variety of sectors.
