Currently, women make up only 14% of the mobility and infrastructure workforce. We are gathering feedback from the public and from women in the field to better understand how we can help make careers in mobility and infrastructure more appealing and rewarding for women.

 

The Austin Infrastructure Academy is broadening workforce participation by opening doors for women in mobility and infrastructure. Through targeted outreach, tailored training programs and wraparound support, the Academy helps women access high-demand careers, build skills and advance an industry that has historically been male-dominated.

 

Survey feedback will shape initiatives that ensure women have a seat at the table—and on the job site. These efforts aim to improve the experience for women who are currently in or entering the mobility and infrastructure industry.

 

Our efforts will help build a more representative workforce—a key step in meeting the demand for 10,000 new mobility and infrastructure jobs created each year in Central Texas.
