Grants for Internships & Onboarding
- Workforce Solutions Capital Area can provide funding to support new employees by covering their wages. We can identify which program is best for your company needs. Options can include:
- Reimbursement of 50% straight-time wages (no holidays or overtime) for up to six months, or up to $10,000
- Payment for all straight-time wages for up to 12 weeks
- New employees are trained in your company culture
- These programs build a community of skilled and diverse workers to support your industry
- You have the opportunity to retain the newly trained worker upon completion of the program
Upskilling Grants & Support
- Upskilling provides a pathway for long-term economic growth for individuals, industry, and the region
- Increase retention by filling your middle- and upper-level positions with upskilled workers trained in your company culture
- We can assist you in developing your upskilling plans and help you cover training and upskilling costs for your employees

Layoff Aversion & Outplacement Assistance
- We can help you navigate the layoff process and provide reemployment assistance to your staff
- We can offset infrastructure costs to help ensure you can maintain your workforce
- Assistance can include purchasing equipment to support work from home, offsetting costs for personal protective equipment and sanitation supplies to prevent potential exposure to COVID-19, and offsetting security costs to maintain physical property while limited staff are on-site
