Quality Improvement Programs

As part of our commitment to quality child care, Workforce Solutions - Child Care Services offers quality improvement programs and initiatives to child care providers who strive for quality.

Child Care Directors Symposiums

We are the founder and co-host of the Child Care Directors’ Symposiums, a series of three-day conferences aimed at helping child care directors learn important business skills and quality improvement. The symposiums are held throughout Central Texas and offer topics such as budgeting, evaluating staff, and time management.

The Director Institute

In partnership with the City of Austin and Austin Community College (ACC), we provide child care directors with 48 hours of administrative training. Directors who complete all twelve classes will earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from ACC. For more information, please call us at 512.597.7191 ext. 185.

Incentives for Texas Rising Star and Austin Rising Star Providers

The Texas Rising Star and Austin Rising Star programs are for child care providers who meet quality requirements that exceed the state’s minimum licensing standards and that are designed to enhance the intellectual, physical, and social development of children in care. In return for their commitment to quality, providers receive numerous benefits including: learning materials and equipment, child development college course scholarships, and more. For more information on the Texas Rising Star and Austin Rising Star programs, please click here.

Pathway to the Stars

In collaboration with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, we also offer "Pathway to the Stars" - a mentor/teacher project that assists providers who have compliance challenges with the program requirements needed for quality improvement. Through mentoring and instruction, the providers can overcome their challenges and become Texas Rising Star and Austin Rising Star providers.
