Public Policy Priorities
Public Policy Priorities Overview Workforce Solutions Capital Area Workforce Board (WSCAWB) is a public/private partnership, bringing together the interests of business, education, economic development, labor, community, and government in developing solutions that meet the workforce needs of the region. WSCAWB designs and executes the strategic and policy framework for the regional workforce system. We work to connect and align the efforts of the workforce system and to leverage available community resources in the development of human talent. WSCAB also serves as an advocate for workforce issues and needs. We influence public policy by creating conversation, facilitating community engagement, and building consensus around issues that impact the region’s economy, employers, and workforce. Despite having a strong economic infrastructure and comparative advantages over other areas of the country, the Austin metro-region faces a number of challenges. Those challenges have been identified in the State of the Workforce: Austin-Round Rock MSA 2012 report, published by the WSCAWB earlier this year. Additional Public Policy Priorities for 2013-2014 Forthcoming.
