AHEAD: Alliances Helping Employers Achieve Diversity Symposium

The U.S. Department of Labor - Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program (OFCCP), Independent Living Experience (ILE), the Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS), and Workforce Solutions Capital Area invite you to attend a free Symposium focused on recruiting and hiring individuals with disabilities.

Continental Breakfast: 8:00 - 8:30 a.m.

Symposium: 8:30 - 11:00 a.m.

AHEAD is a community outreach event in the Austin area to educate employers and other stakeholders on the changing recruitment and accommodation responsibilities for hiring individuals with disabilities and protected veterans. OFCCP will present information related to the recent changes to Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 (VEVRAA) regulations. In addition, partnering agencies such as ILE, DARS and Workforce Solutions Capital Area will brief employers on the services and support they provide to assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining the education and training needed to find competitive employment.

While there is no cost to participate in the symposium, space is limited.  Online registration for the symposium will close Thursday, January 28 at noon.

Following a lunch break from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., we will reconvene for a job fair from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.  The job fair is also free to attend but  space will be limited and a separate registration form is required.
