Youth Career Fest

Youth Career Fest is a free public event that seeks to inform students in grades 8 - 12 of their potential career paths by facilitating conversations between students and professionals from a variety of fields.

Representatives from information technology employers, government agencies, engineering firms and more have participated in past Youth Career Fest events. In 2018, more than 140 local employers and higher education representatives attended.

Veterans, transitioning service members, and spouses receive priority from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The job fair opens to the public from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.

Job seeker registration is open. Veterans, transitioning service members, and spouses will receive priority service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m, and the general public is welcome to attend from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.

Please note: This job fair is dedicated to putting our veterans back to work. Only employers with job openings/positions posted in WorkInTexas.com prior to the event will be allowed to participate. All applicable job openings/positions must also be located in the Austin-Round Rock MSA. Absolutely no selling of products or services (training opportunities) will be allowed. Companies not following these guidelines may lose their reservations.

Schools, training institutions, and non-profits are invited to participate as well. A resource area will be made available for job seekers interested in learning more about training opportunities and additional services available to veterans and their families in the region.

The Texas HireAbility Capital Region Job Fair connects employers with quality employees who add value to and enhance the workforce.

The Austin Metro Area Master Community Workforce Plan officially launched June 1, 2017. Year One of this ambitious but necessary five-year community plan has been both a great success and a valuable learning lesson.

Join us in both celebrating our early wins and discussing how our community will continue to move forward in years two throug give of the Master Plan.


 

 

A unique event targeting the youth often left out of traditional career fairs - Opportunity Youth. This event aims to not only expose opportunity youth to in-demand career opportunities in our community but to also provide them with opportunities to participate in job shadowing activities with local employers. Following the Career Fair, interested opportunity youth will attend job shadowing appointments occurring the month of October.
